We wanna be home (9th August)

Not because we hate Switzerland or because we are sick of travelling. It all has to do with the gastro bug we both have. It's lots fun coming out both ends. We can barely move and while Michele's bed is super comfy, there is nothing like your own bed and your Mum to bring you drinks. Fingers crossed that we are better tomorrow. On a positive note we did manage to get in a 1.5 hour cruise around lake Zurich before the bug hit. Even though we felt like death warmed up, we appreciated the views and architecture. Some lakefront places have a boat park, where they can park their boat like a driveway! We were also struck by just how clean the streets were only 10 hours after the mess has finished being made! On another positive note we saw some swans at the end of the cruise and who should be feeding them? None other than Ricky Gervais and his wife. We thought it might be him, but weren't keen enough to say hello. It wasn't until we googled his wife that we were certain. Janine, no food to mention today because we haven't eaten anything. Gotta go, bathroom's calling...

  1. Oh you poor things, there is nothing worse than getting sick away from home - I am disappointed and hope that you recover quickly and continue the foodie commentary which has been most enjoyable. I can't believe that's two postings I have got ahead of Andrew, thank god NZ is for once ahead of Australia (in time that it!!) lol.

  2. Well done Janine! Hope you are feeling better M&S - at least you are staying with someone you know - would be worse in hostels with strangers!

  3. Sorry to hear you have a bug. I wish your Mum WAS there to bring you drinks Mike! I can't helping thinking it is better you are unwell in comfort at Michele's than somewhere else. But do hope to hear you are soon better and continuing with your fabulous adventures. Thinking of you both.

  6. Just had a closer look - that's a great pic of you trying not to look like a stalker Mike!

  7. Oh poor guys! Sorry to hear the tummy bug has journeyed all the way across to you too - it's been making the rounds in Auckland too, although Jeremy and I have been lucky enough to NOT catch it as of yet. Fingers and goes crossed! xx
